A driver/guide from Marrakech Sand Tours will meet you at Tangier Airport or Port, depending on your arrival time, and transfer you to your hotel. You’ll have free time to explore the city of Tangier at your leisure. Overnight stay at a Hotel/Riad.
We’ll pick you up from your hotel to begin our 15-day Morocco tour from Tangier, heading towards Chefchaouen through the scenic Rif Mountains. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of forests, fields, and rivers before arriving in the picturesque city of Chefchaouen, known as the Blue Pearl. You’ll have free time to explore this enchanting town before spending the night in a traditional Riad.
Today, we will depart for Volubilis and explore the ruins of this Roman city. You will visit the holy city of Moulay Idriss, a place of pilgrimage of all Moroccans After you will continue to Meknes where you will explore the Medina of Meknes with its beautiful Tomb of Moulay Ismail, the granary and the Sahrij Souani, used for irrigation and plantation, The Square of Lehdim, and the Gate of Bab al Mansour. You will have the opportunity to explore the souks and relax in one of the Square cafés. Later, we will continue to Fez. Accommodation at a traditional Riad, including bed and breakfast.
After your breakfast, you will have your local guide who will unlock the hidden gems of Fez and make you go deeper and deeper in Fez’s old medina, you will discover the medina and the famous Souks of Fez – its narrow, cobbled streets are filled with ancient mosques and towering green-glazed minarets… You will visit the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Fes. The tour will include a visit to the tannery and the ceramics cooperative to see the traditional Moroccan crafts. Overnight in Riad, including bed and breakfast.
Today, we drive to Ifrane, “the Moroccan Switzerland”, and Azrou, passing by the Middle Atlas Mountains, “Tizi n t’lghamt pass”. During our trip, we will have stops to take pictures, and have lunch in Midelt, then we continue our tour through Ziz valley, city of Errachidia, Erfoud, and after we reach the heart of the Moroccan Sahara Desert, Merzouga, you will have some res,t then ride your camels and trekking to the deep desert. During our camel trek, we will catch the sunset between dunes. A delicious dinner in the Sahara Desert camp, and you will enjoy this night in desert tents with Berber drum music under the clear starry sky.
After breakfast in your hotel, we start our journey in Merzouga by driving off-road. Then we visit the nomads, in their handmade woven tent. Learn how they live while drinking a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village, where you will enjoy the Gnaoua music and dancing performances. Its inhabitants originate from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that, we take a stroll in a palm tree grove. Then drive a few kilometres to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called flamingos lake. After that ,you will change from the car to ride Camel and trekking to the deep desert. During our camel trekking, we will catch the sunset between sand dunes. A delicious dinner in Sahara Desert camp and you will enjoy this night in desert tents with Berber drum music under the clear stary sky.
Early in the morning, your camel guide will take you to watch what will may be the best sunrise of your life. After sunrise and breakfast, you will trek back to the hotel in Merzouga where you will find your driver. Then, you’ll leave to Rissani, we will visit the Market in Rissani , a traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuctou in Mali. Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled, continuing to Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley.
After having breakfast in the hotel, the day will start by visiting the beautiful rock formations of Dades Gorges. Then drive along the valley of roses to reach Kalaa M’gouna, and Skoura, arriving in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, and stop in the Atlas Film Studios. Then to the UNESCO world heritage site called “Kasbah Ait Benhaddou”, classified since 1986. Ait Benhaddou Kasbah is one of many locations served as a natural decoration for many movies such as “Alexander, Gladiator, Babel…’’ and have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive to the red city of Marrakech, passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Arrival in Marrakech and drop off in your accommodation.
Today, we start the day by exploring the city’s most iconic landmarks. Visit the enchanting Bahia Palace, the colorful Majorelle Garden, and wander through the lively souks of the Medina. From the majestic Koutoubia Mosque to the bustling Jamaa el Fna Square, this day offers a rich introduction to Marrakech’s vibrant culture and history.
You’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan cooking experience, where you’ll not only learn to prepare authentic dishes but also uncover the secrets behind some of the finest Moroccan recipes. This hands-on experience is both professional and relaxed, offering a delightful way to immerse yourself in the rich culinary traditions of Morocco.
Today, we will travel from Marrakech to Essaouira, a captivating town on the Atlantic coast, about two hours away. Known for its beautiful beach, vibrant fishing industry, and skilled woodcraft, Essaouira offers a rich cultural experience. As we explore one of Morocco’s most charming medinas, you’ll observe silversmiths and woodworkers at work.
We’ll also visit a traditional pharmacy and a women’s cooperative, where argan nuts are manually processed into argan oil. You’ll have free time to discover this coastal gem and can enjoy various outdoor activities such as ATV quad rides, horse and camel riding, or surfing. Overnight stay in a Riad within the Essaouira medina.
After breakfast at your riad, we’ll begin our tour of Essaouira, one of Morocco’s most charming seaside towns, famous for its well-preserved 18th-century seaport fortifications, which have earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. Our first stop is the Skala Fortress, offering stunning views of the fishing port and the Île de Mogador.
Next, we’ll visit the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Museum, which houses a modest collection of regional jewelry, costumes, woodwork, and weapons. As we walk through the medina’s narrow streets, you’ll pass by numerous handicraft shops showcasing local artisan work. Essaouira is known as the “City of the Wind” due to its strong winds throughout much of the year. In the late afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore on your own and take in the city’s romantic atmosphere. Overnight stay at our riad in the medina.
Today, we will leave Essaouira and head toward Casablanca, Morocco’s commercial hub, following the coastal road while enjoying scenic views. On the way, we will pass through Safi, a major fishing city, and then stop in Oualidia, where you can savor delicious seafood in this beautiful spot.
After lunch, we’ll continue to Casablanca, passing through El Jadida (formerly known as Mazagan), a historic medina established by the Portuguese in 1513. Upon arrival in Casablanca, we’ll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in the world, known for its stunning location perched above the ocean. Then, we’ll stop at Place Mohamed V before heading to your riad or hotel for the night.
Today, we’ll drive to Rabat, where we’ll visit the historic Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret started by the Almohad sultan Yacoub al-Mansour in 1195, and the stunning Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After our visit of Rabat, we’ll continue to Asilah, a beautiful beach town on the Atlantic coast, known for its quiet charm and Mediterranean-inspired whitewashed buildings with blue accents. We’ll explore the town’s narrow, gallery-lined streets before spending the night in a cozy local riad.
After breakfast, we will drive back to Tangier, where we’ll visit a few of the city’s highlights. Following this, we’ll transfer you to the port or airport in time for your scheduled departure. End of our 15-day tour from Tangier
