Tour overview

Ocean, mountains & Sahara in one journey

This private two-week adventure is designed for travellers who want to see all of Morocco in a single trip. After two days in Marrakech, you follow the Atlantic north — windswept Essaouira, the lagoon of Oualidia, Portuguese El Jadida, Casablanca’s great mosque, royal Rabat and the whitewashed murals of Asilah — all the way to Tangier on the Strait of Gibraltar.

From the north, the road climbs into the Rif Mountains to blue Chefchaouen, then down past the Roman ruins of Volubilis and imperial Meknes to Fes, the world’s largest living medieval medina. Next comes the long, spectacular crossing of the Middle Atlas to the Sahara, with two nights in the dunes of Erg Chebbi: camel treks, a 4x4 desert tour, sandboarding, Gnawa music and nomad families.

The return leg takes you through the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley, past the Valley of Roses and the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, and back over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech — all with your own private driver from start to finish.

No. This is a road-based journey with city walks, short hikes in the gorges and camel rides, all at an easy to moderate pace. Anyone with normal mobility can enjoy it, and every activity is optional.

How long are the driving days?

Most days involve 2–5 hours of driving with plenty of stops. The longest day is Fes to Merzouga, about 8 hours including breaks, lunch and scenic stops through the Middle Atlas.

Can I start or finish in another city?

Yes. Because the route passes through Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Fes, we can start or end the tour at any of these airports, or reverse the direction to suit your flights.

What is the desert camp like?

You stay two nights in a camp among the Erg Chebbi dunes, in a private tent with proper beds and bedding. Dinner is served in the camp, followed by a campfire and Berber drums. Luxury tents with private bathrooms are available as an upgrade.

When is the best time to do this tour?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal for the whole route. Winter is pleasant on the coast and in the desert by day, with cold nights; summer suits the coast and the north, but the Sahara is very hot at midday.

Yes. The tour is entirely private, with your own driver for the full two weeks. You can add nights, upgrade accommodation, include a High Atlas trek or extra beach days, or shorten any section.
