Our set desert and photography tours run on fixed routes and, in some cases, fixed dates. A tailor-made trip starts from a blank page — the cities, the pace, the accommodation level, and the departure date are all decided around you, with a private driver-guide for the whole journey rather than a shared group.
Four to six weeks gives enough time to draft, refine, and confirm accommodation without rushing — though during peak season (spring and autumn) earlier is better, since the best riads and desert camps book up first. That said, we've also put together trips on much shorter notice when needed.
No fixed minimum. Most tailor-made trips run between five and fourteen days, since that's what it takes to combine two or three regions without rushing, but shorter city-only itineraries and longer, multi-region journeys are both entirely possible.
It depends entirely on the route, the season, your accommodation level, and group size — which is exactly why the first draft is free and obligation-free. Tell us your rough budget when you reach out and we'll build the itinerary to fit it, rather than presenting a plan and hoping it matches.
That's the normal starting point for most tailor-made trips. A few basics — roughly how many days, who's traveling, and what kind of experience you're after (relaxed, adventurous, cultural, a mix) — are usually enough for us to draft a first route for you to react to.
Before departure, yes — changes are simple as long as accommodation availability allows it. Once you're on the road, your driver-guide can still adjust the day-to-day order of stops, though changes to booked accommodation become harder to guarantee on short notice.
