Tour overview
From the ocean to the dunes, and on to Marrakech
This private one-way tour is the perfect way to travel from Agadir to Marrakech while seeing the very best of southern Morocco on the way. Instead of the direct motorway, you head inland through the ramparts of Taroudant, the saffron country of Taliouine and the carpet town of Taznakht to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert.
From there you follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Valley of Roses and the Dades Gorges, walk the Todra Gorge and ride a camel into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi for a night at a desert camp.
The return leg crosses the wild landscapes of Alnif and N’Kob to the palm groves of the Draa Valley, before a final day through Ouarzazate and Aït Benhaddou and over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech — never driving the same road twice.

Questions about this tour
Can’t find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp and a local expert will reply quickly.
Can this tour return to Agadir instead of ending in Marrakech?
Yes. We can turn it into a round trip by returning from the Draa Valley via Ouarzazate, Taznakht and Taroudant to Agadir. It can also be done in reverse, starting in Marrakech and ending in Agadir.
How long are the driving days?
Most days involve 3 to 6.5 hours of driving with plenty of stops for photos, walks and visits. The route is planned so that you never drive the same road twice.
What is the desert camp like?
The camp sits among the dunes of Erg Chebbi, with private tents, proper beds and bedding, and dinner served at the camp. Luxury tents with private bathrooms are available as an upgrade.
Can I add a second night in the desert?
Absolutely. A second night in Merzouga lets you enjoy a 4x4 desert tour, the village of Khamlia and its Gnawa musicians, and sandboarding on the dunes — turning this into a 6-day tour.
Is this tour suitable for families and older travellers?
Yes. The tour is private, so the pace is set around you, with as many stops as you need. The camel ride is short and gentle, and a 4x4 transfer to camp can be arranged instead.
What is the best time of year for this tour?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal. Winter days are sunny but nights in the desert are cold, while in summer the Sahara is very hot in the middle of the day.
